English Language Learning
Washington Adult School's English Language Learning (ELL) classes provide instruction for individuals who want to learn or improve their English language proficiency. Students who do not speak English as their first language will learn reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. ELL classes are participatory and interactive. Some of the classes are available by level and others are multi-level. At orientation, students are tested and placed in the appropriate level. Students must attend orientation prior to enrolling in the ELL class. If space allows, students may enroll in more than one ELL class.
All ELL classes are also designed to accelerate student learning by incorporating workforce preparation with ELL instruction. Students enrolled in ELL have the option to co-enroll in workforce training classes that help prepare students for industry certification and work.
